Al Galindo

Managing Partner

Al Galindo, the founder of Valorem Valuation, brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as an investment fund manager. During this time, Al talked to hundreds of business owners while searching for a business to buy. He was shocked to discover that most didn't truly understand their business's worth or the key drivers of growth. Many equated short-term profitability with long-term value, a misconception that often led to missed opportunities and undervaluation.

This eye-opening experience inspired Al’s mission: to educate business owners on what truly drives value, helping them build and realize the worth they deserve at the end of their entrepreneurial journey. Al’s unique blend of analytical acumen and entrepreneurial spirit ensures that clients get precise, actionable valuation services that empower them to make informed decisions and unlock their business’s full potential.

With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Rice University, Al has honed his skills in business development, operations, and strategy through diverse roles, including project management and interim CEO positions. He also teaches an MBA course on Enterprise Acquisition at Rice University’s Jones School of Business, where he helps MBA students develop the skills to assess, acquire, and grow businesses.

Al Danto

Principal Advisor

Al has over 35 years’ experience with startup and entrepreneurial companies as well as the acquisition and divestiture of business interests. He started Structured Graphics at the age of 24 and grew the company through a series of 10+ acquisitions into a nationally recognized printing and document management company. The company was acquired in 2000 by a private equity group.

After exiting the company, Al went on to launch and invest in startup and privately held companies in a wide range of industries. He also began advising business owners in valuation and developing acquisition and exit strategies. In 2012, after nearly ten years of guest lecturing, Al joined the faculty at the Jones School of Business at Rice University and fulfilled a passion for teaching. Al teaches MBA courses on starting, acquiring and valuing privately held companies.

He has served on a variety of boards, including the alumni board of the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University and the Entrepreneurs Organization. Al is a Certified Valuation Analyst and received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Mathematics from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Rice University.
